Turmeric, ginger and cinnamon: Everyday medicine in your kitchen | Simon Mills
Rating
Description
Today on the podcast, I’m speaking with Simon Mills, a pioneer in complementary health since 1979 and later in integrated health, self-care and social prescription.
He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in medical sciences and has been a herbal practitioner in Exeter since 1977. Simon was a Special Adviser to the House of Lords Select Committee for the 2000 report on Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
In 2016, he became Herbal Strategist at Pukka Herbs, leading new initiatives, clinical research and efforts to reduce antibiotic demand.
Within herbal medicine, he founded the first Master’s programme in the USA, wrote key textbooks and published research, including randomised controlled trials.
I never managed to find the herbs to support my liver before my stag party, so I can’t vouch for those! But I’ll be diving into www.herbalreality.com to explore ways to boost the phytochemical diversity of my own diet.
